i tweaked around on a project that’s been sitting for a while, and i think i’m close to finishing it up. so i’ll get some pics out soon, and maybe box it up if i decide it’s worth it
usually my houses are low prim, but this one is designed to use the entire parcel’s alotment just for the house. it’s a three prim house, designed for a 16m plot.
yup.
what’s the purpose of such a thing? well 16m plots are sometimes dirt cheap, and getting one might save a little neighborhood blight. and four by four meters is enough to stand or sit around, even have friends over to laugh at your ridiculous little house.
the house itself will have two glass doors, two benches, all the usual park life scripty stuff, like tinting windows and a locking door. and it seats three avatars :). no, you won’t be able to set out your plants for any decor, so it’s got some fancy racing stripes on the inside and it lets you change the outside accent color through the menu. camera angles with the doors closed are a little tricky, but you can open the doors and they’ll stay open.
it’s pretty good for changing clothes, editing appearance, idling around or having a private talk with a friend or two. and if i sell it, it will be cheap

this house started out as kind of a larger version of the brock, but it ended up with a different character. the main design element is the strong horizontal line between stories, which goes almost unbroken around the whole thing. i made that white to contrast with the rest of the house, which i kept dark to recede and blend in with the glass. and there is a lot of glass! its exterior is almost all glass, except for a few “supporting” pieces, and the main structure comes from a central core which makes up the kitchen and master bedroom.

one fun feature i made was a sunroom which opens up into the rear deck via sliding glass doors. the doors don’t have the usual auto-close (btw, you can control this in newer park life houses) so they’ll stay open for party’s duration

on sale now at the usual locations, for L$1,700.

here i am on the bleeding edge of web 2.0, starting up my blog! yeah, okay, i’m not one to jump on the new stuff when it comes out, but it felt like a good a time as any to start mine. so here it is. i’ll post things about my business (”park life” prefab houses), and various other sl-related architecture, design and building topics.
so to start out filling my post quota, here are a couple projects that are on my mind now.
i recently rented some land in nevi, in the avendale sims run by mystical cookie. it’s a good community, and it’s a nice break from mainland. my region is zoned “normal” residential so i’m going to work on a house built for the spot. it’s situated in a corner of some paths, and has a little stream out back. i first laid down some prims (see pic) so i didn’t have to stare at grass texture but i’ll be ripping that down i think.

second project du jour is a second store for park life and ace’s spaces. we have our big home shop in deco, but we’d like to have a mainland presence, along with more rezzers (they get so crowded i’ve seen fights break out) to browse the homes. it’s a 4096 plot, which seems big enough, but to display houses it can get tight. the goal is to have two spots for display homes and a teleporter on the ground, and a sky rezzer. the space isn’t flat so it’ll need some terraforming to accommodate the elements and still look natural.
