rebirth of a house

quite some time ago, i sketched out a house design. i was pleased with it, and immediately started to create my vision in prims. getting the initial look was easy, but i soon ran into problems. the exterior looked great. but as soon as i started the interior i hit problems with the split level concept. the floors were either too tall, or too short. and the split level didn’t meet up well with the other two levels between which it sat.so i wrestled with it. i added prims to cover odd gaps, i ripped out whole sections and rebuilt them. until i ended up with a prim-heavy monstrosity. and it still had odd gaps. disappointed, i scrapped it and moved on to something else.

recently, on a whim, i decided to tackle it again. starting from scratch i build the second version. it has a similar look, but technically it isn’t a split level, so it worked much better. prims lined up. the door placement made sense. it had rooms that didn’t seem like they were forced into awkward spaces.

it’s been a while since my last update, but my new house is almost done. it will be 40×33 meters, meant to fit on 4096 square meters of land.also in the works, a smaller 1024-size home, and a larger store.
